Referat: Fröjdens FK - Tynnered FC

It was a bright sunny day with 20 degrees and our home ground – Heden, at the centre of the city welcomed Fröjdens FK on a Saturday afternoon. With a massive win and the team beaming with confidence from the previous game against Argo, and with Liess making his debut for Fröjdens in the league this season, it was all to play for in this captivating fixture against Tynnered FC who had won both their opening games this season. With David Tenenbaum playing his rockstar music in the Fröjdens changing room, the stardom team arrived one by one. The coach – Darko, had his work cut out before the game as he had to make sure the team did not get complacent from the previous win and this was a great chance to climb to the top of the table with just 3 games played in the league.

The game is underway and Fröjdens plays it calm and easy in first few minutes before Mattson produces a gem of a through ball from half line to Naser who without doubt finished it to take the lead early in the first half. It’s always said in football that, the team that has just scored is the most vulnerable and well, did that prove right in this game. Tynnered FC win a free kick close to the 18-yard box and with a well-trained set piece, they equalize just after a minute of the first goal of the match. The game is all square and the teams restart with each of them looking to have an upper hand before heading into the first half. Tynnered continue to press entering the half of Fröjdens and eventually win a corner which leads to a second goal from a screamer of a shot from their central midfielder who was waiting at the edge of the box to pounce upon a chance. Fröjdens just did not seem like having an answer to the aggressive yet tactical play by Tynnered who managed to bundle in 3 more goals before half time, including one cheeky free kick in the last minute of the first half to evidently put down the confidence of their opposition. Paschim, who played his first game of the league this season, would not have expected such a bad start. But well, football is a funny game, one day you make saves get compared to the greatest goalkeepers in the game and another day you just want to hide your face after a shambolic performance in front of your goal.

Half time it was and Darko did his best to put the team back to where we belong and lifted the confidence levels as always. Substitutions – Liess comes in for Tenenbaum, water bottles being passed around and with the first half misery put behind, Fröjdens FK was once again ready to give all it takes to make a comeback in what seemed a one sided first half. With the subs in and the team ready to go again, it was time for the second half and did it not have an impact. Naser assists Erik with a great pass who keeps his cool and finishes it into the bottom left corner of the goal to script what would’ve seemed to be the biggest comebacks in the league’s history. Unfortunately, complacency strikes Fröjdens again and Tynnered manage to score two more goals in quick succession to the put the game in their bags completely. The last quarter of the game in progress, well, Tynnered were just trying to play out the massive lead they had secured by keeping possession but Fröjdens is a team known to not give up even if dead and buried. The debutant Liess takes on 3 midfielders and with his quick thinking, he sights Bäckis who is composed to take the ball around the goalkeeper and taps it in to reduce the deficit to 3-8. Darko makes a couple more substitutions to keep the players fresh for the next week after what seemed like a gruelling match. With Tynnered lying quiet in their own half burning the time out with slow throw ins and goal kicks, Fröjdens was left with just one option, which was to score as many as possible to at least win the second half and take a better play onto the next game of the season. With Fröjdens constantly pressing in the attacking third, Niclas finds Hansson who is taller than an average Swedish person. He leaps over the defence line like Christiano Ronaldo to head the ball into the corner with the Tynnered goalkeeper just having the work of fetching the ball out later. The referee blows the final whistle and it ends with a win for Tynnered FC. 4-8 the final score to Tynnered but Fröjdens is not down and out. A team that has improved and continues to do so with the new signings doing their best to adapt to the conditions and with the support of the legends in the team, we are sure to do much better in the upcoming games and get back to winning ways that will prove fruitful towards the end of the season. It’s been a pleasure to play for this team and will always be.
